Dino Dig at the Natural History Museum

This term in Humanities, Year 7s were introduced to the Science of Paleontology

Over the course of Term 1,  Year 7 have learnt the ways that today's scientists collect data and information about periods in the past where there are no human historical records. 

Students were introduced to concepts and keywords such as excavation, fossils, archaeology and evidence. Students enjoyed activities in class such as identifying and designing fossils related to the dinosaurs era. The trip this week was a great way to enrich their learning on this topic

The students enjoyed taking part in the Dino Dig workshop where they used skills such as excavating and measuring fossils and using evidence to identify the fossils.Year 7 were very curious and had lots of questions for the Workshop Lead.
