Parent Open Afternoon: A Glimpse into School Life
On 10th July, St Marylebone CE Bridge School warmly welcomed parents and guardians to our Parent Open Afternoon, providing a valuable glimpse into the daily experiences of our students.
The event began at 1:45 PM in the sports hall, where parents were greeted with a slideshow showcasing various school events. Amin, one of our talented students, played the piano, setting a welcoming tone for the afternoon.
Parents were then guided on a tour of the school by our dedicated Year 10 students. The tour included visits to:
English and Art with Year 7: Parents observed creative projects and engaging lessons.
Science with Year 9: Students demonstrated practical experiments, highlighting their hands-on learning experiences.
PE with Year 10: Outdoor activities showcased students' athletic skills and teamwork.
At the Bus Program: Parents learnt about our unique art therapy initiative, which supports students emotionally and creatively.
The highlight of the afternoon was a performance in the sports hall, featuring scenes from "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." Our students displayed their acting and singing talents, bringing the play to life with enthusiasm and skill.
This event was an excellent opportunity for parents to interact with teachers, see their children’s work, and gain insights into the support and opportunities available at SMBS. The feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the chance to engage with the school community and see the nurturing environment their children enjoy daily.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all staff, students, and parents who contributed to the success of the Open Afternoon. We look forward to continuing our partnership and celebrating more achievements in the future.
