Year 9 Residential Trip
Last term our Year 9 students went on their first SMBS residential! They headed off for two nights to Stubbers Adventure Centre.
Students took part in archery, kayaking, high ropes, a night walk, team building challenges, boating, axe throwing and bushcraft - where they made shelters out of logs and learned how to make a fire safely using natural materials.
We ended the second day with a huge campfire, where we made smores, roasted marshmallows and sang songs together. The Year 9s showed us that they are resilient, kind, caring, thoughtful, (energetic!) and a brave group of students. Parents, you would be proud of the teamwork they showed when cheering people on, the resilience they showed when they didn’t give up and tried a task and their fast-thinking skills when making the fires and building the natural shelters.
Here are some of their best bits:
"My favourite part of the residential were the high ropes!” - Keyshia
"My favourite part of the residential was being with my friends, working together and archery” - Zara
"My favourite part of the residential was Kayaking! It was so much fun” - Noah-Lee
