- For pupils to have knowledge about mental health in order to challenge the stigma attached to it.
 - For pupils to develop knowledge and understanding of their value to society.
 - To support and enable pupils to develop an understanding of themselves, their sense of self and to build confidence and self-esteem.
 - To promote the importance of positive mental health
 - To develop psychological skills/strategies to live a successful and independent life.
 - To develop an understanding of their emotions.
 - To identify the support network available to them when they are struggling with their feelings.
 - To develop self-advocacy skills, including the ability to ask for help when needed.
 - For pupils to be aware of mental health problems in order to recognise and seek support.
 - For pupils to be aware of the mental health support available in the community.
 - For pupils to have the skills to navigate the mental health support available to them in the community.
 - To ensure all pupils leave SMBS prepared for transition to post-16 settings and adulthood.
