SMBS Official Opening

The official opening of The St Marylebone CE Bridge School's  purpose-built new site took place on Friday.

Nearly 10 years ago - on 1st September 2013 -The St Marylebone CE Bridge School was opened.

It began in the basement of The St Marylebone CE School's Blandford Street site, then grew into temporary accommodation on Third Avenue, W10, while a permanent site was sought.  With determined support from Westminster City Council, local stakeholders and the wider education community, a site on Herries Street, Queen’s Park was developed.  Finally, The St Marylebone CE Bridge School began its ninth academic year in its new and brilliant facilities, designed to support and meet the needs of the children aged 11 to 16 who attend there, from local and neighbouring London boroughs.

On Friday last week, we held an official opening and celebration of the new St Marylebone Bridge School site, where Head of School, Kate Miller welcomed us all.  We enjoyed tours by Year 11, choir performances from Year 7, saw learning across the school and the great support of the Local Authority, the London Diocese, parents, Governors and staff.  We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Westminster and Karen Buck MP, whose words of support and celebration were really appreciated.
