SMBS go the distance for the mini marathon

The whole school took part in the TCS London Mini Marathon during Term 5, and what an incredible event it was!

Students were challenged to complete 3.2km - an amazing 25 laps of the school - in order to earn their official certificate. We are so proud to say that every single student smashed the target and showed fantastic determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the week.

A special congratulations goes to Enzo in Year 11, who achieved the highest lap count in the school by running over 11km in total! Enzo was awarded a £25 JD Sports voucher for his outstanding effort - an incredible achievement.

The event was organised by our fantastic Eco-Council to raise money for the British Heart Foundation while also promoting the importance of healthy living, exercise and wellbeing. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families for their generous donations and support. Thanks to your contributions, we managed to raise an amazing £170 for such an important cause.

All of the students were absolutely brilliant and represented the school so well. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging, supporting and cheering each other on throughout the event. The positivity, teamwork and determination shown by our students made the week incredibly special, and we are so proud of everyone who took part.
