SMBS awarded Artsmark Gold

STOP PRESS! WE’VE ACHIEVED ARTSMARK GOLD! ðŸŒŸ

We have some wonderful news to share, and we couldn’t be prouder! St Marylebone CE Bridge School has officially been awarded Artsmark Gold!

This is a very special moment for our school and a fantastic recognition of the creativity, enthusiasm and hard work of our pupils, staff and creative partners.

So, what is Artsmark?

Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools in England, accredited by Arts Council England. It recognises schools that place creativity and the arts at the heart of learning, giving young people opportunities to develop their confidence, communication and creative skills.

Our Artsmark journey has been about much more than creating artwork. It has been about giving our pupils opportunities to discover their talents, express themselves, take on new challenges and feel proud of what they can achieve.

A particularly exciting part of this journey has been building strong and lasting partnerships with some of London’s leading arts and cultural organisations. Through our work with the Wallace Collection, City Lions Creative Mentors and other creative partners, pupils have worked alongside artists and industry professionals, taken part in collaborative projects and explored creative careers. Importantly, these relationships have also led to continued work experience opportunities, giving pupils valuable first-hand experience of professional environments and helping them develop skills for life beyond school. These are meaningful partnerships that continue to grow and open new doors for our young people.

Within school, our pupil-led creative projects and growing arts leadership opportunities have been equally rewarding. From taking responsibility for creative activities to presenting their work, supporting younger pupils and sharing their ideas with others, our pupils have shown just how much they are capable of when given the opportunity.

What makes this award particularly meaningful is seeing how creativity has helped our pupils find their voice, communicate their ideas, work together and grow in confidence. These achievements reach far beyond the Art room and into everyday school life.

This is a celebration of our whole school community! A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, especially our brilliant pupils, who continue to inspire us with their imagination, individuality and determination.

We did it – Artsmark Gold! We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to building on this success, keeping creativity at the heart of our school and continuing to create exciting opportunities for every pupil.
