Y7 SMBS pupil in Future Sounds 2024 Final

Year 7 pupil, Genesis has made it through to the final of Future Sounds 2024 - a competition for young musicians in  Hammersmith & Fulham; Kensington & Chelsea; and Westminster.

Talented musician and singer, Genesis has made it through to the Finals of the annual music competition organised by the Tri-borough Music Hub in partnership with The Rhythm Studio. The competition is open to pupils of secondary school age, 11-18, that attend a state-maintained school in one of the three Tri-borough Local Authorities

Genesis performed at the prelim event at the end of January where he played and sang two songs, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson and an original song of his own called Omikimmy way.

On 9 February it was announced that Genesis was one of 7 acts who have made it through to the Final at Bush Hall on 20 March where he and the other finalists will perform 2 songs again - one original and one cover.

About the upcoming finals, Genesis said “I am feeling nervous and kind of feeling brave and confident too”

We are incredibly proud of Genesis for having the courage to participate in the competition and are looking forward to seeing how he gets on in the Final later this month. Good Luck Genesis!
