Queen Elizabeth arrived at The Charterhouse on the way to her coronation.

Pupils enjoyed an audience with the future Queen as a costumed interpreter brought the monarch to life in her throne room.

Pupils played along, ensuring that the room was at its best — from food to laundry, dress to décor. They made sure The Charterhouse was fit for a queen whilst discovering more about Queen Elizabeth I and daily life in a Tudor Mansion.
