A busy 'buzzy' visit to the apiary

Year 7 and 8 had a fantastic day out at Battersea Children's Zoo at the start of June as the final activity in the Honey Bee Project.

Students got to dress up in beekeeper suits and opened up a bee hive to see the colony inside. The braver students even picked up part of the honeycomb! We also had a tour of the rest of the zoo with highlights including a heavily pregnant pig and some adorable baby meerkats, and we learnt about the work the zoo does to support endangered animal breeds.
