First school fundraiser of the year
Pupils and staff took part in Jeans for Genes Week again this year to fundraise for families affected by a genetic condition.
The ramp down to the school entrance was transformed into a catwalk last week as pupils arrived in their denim outfits. It was great to see so many taking part and we were impressed by the array of colours and styles.
The Jeans for Genes campaign raises awareness of the daily challenges faced by those living with a genetic condition and raises money to fund projects that make a tangible difference to the lives of those affected.
The SMBS school community had fun and learnt a little more about how genetic conditions affect lives. We managed to raise £60 to contribute to this worthy cause and look forward to more fundraising activities over the course of this year.
