The Year 9 Residential Trip

Some of our Year 9 pupils wrote accounts of their experiences of the residential trip. Here are some examples:

Year 9 Residential by Tom

From Wednesday 8th May to Friday 10th May, Year 9 went to Stubbers Adventure Centre. We took two trains and one bus from Upminster station. When we arrived we saw a playground, grass, big lake and boats. The weather was super hot.

We stayed in two big safari tents. There were seven rooms. Inside each room there were bunk beds. We ate chicken sandwich pizza, sausage rolls and chicken fajita. The food was delicious.

The activities were archery, high rope, laser tag, kayaking, axe throwing, and power boats. My favorite activity was kayaking. The instructors were polite, nice, kind and helpful. The skills I learnt were making fire, kayaking, teamwork and archery.

Overall the trip was amazing. The best part of the trip was the playground because we were climbing high.

Account of the Year 9 Residential Trip by Tim

Year 9 went to Stubbers Adventure Centre. We went there to learn new skills and have fun. We got there by train and bus. The weather was beautifully hot and sunny.

When we arrived, we had lunch. On the first day we had sandwiches, on the second day we had pizza baguettes and on the third and final day we had sausage rolls. I didn’t like the pasta for dinner so I ate minced meat sauce.

The accommodation was comfortable and spacious tents.

The activities were Bushcraft, Archery, High ropes, Grass sledding and Powerboat ride. My favourite activity was powerboating because the boat went very fast. The instructors were helpful. The new skills I learnt were asking for help and resilience.

The best part of the trip was the nightwalk because we saw a sunset. It was a fun trip because I spent time with my friends and teachers. I would go back and recommend someone to go who has never been before.

The weather was hot and sunny a bit cold, and warm.

There was 2 big tents called safari tents.  There was bunk beds in the tents and it was a bit uncomfortable because it was cold at night,

The foods was pizza, pasta, wraps and we had ice cream on the way to the train station on the last day

The activities was lazer tag, kayaking, Axe throwing, high ropes and, archery.

The instructors were helpful and nice. I learnt how to make fire, drive a power boat, do team work and asking for help.

The trip was very fun. The best part for me was kayaking. I would like to go back there.
